Hot Chelle Rae, an alternative rock band, was formed in 2005 and came into the spotlight with their 2011 double platinum single "Tonight Tonight." Their second single, "I Like It Like That," also made waves in the music scene, peaking at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band released their second studio album, "Whatever," on November 29, 2011, demonstrating their musical versatility in dance-rock, pop-rock, and pop genres. They further expanded their discography with the single "Hung Up" in 2013 and an EP "Tangerine" in 2020. Their association with Jive Records and RCA Records further boosted their visibility in the music industry.
In addition to their studio work, Hot Chelle Rae has also been active on the touring circuit. In 2012, they supported Taylor Swift on the Australian and New Zealand legs of her "Speak Now World Tour" and also toured with Demi Lovato that same year. In addition, they joined 5 Seconds of Summer for their Australian tour. Hot Chelle Rae was honored with the American Music Award for New Artist of the Year in 2011.
After a brief hiatus, the band comprising Nash Overstreet and Jamie Follesé reformed in December 2018, adding a fresh chapter to their musical journey, and released "I Hate LA" in November 2019.
