Glenn Stone is an environmental anthropologist, scholar in residence at Washington and Lee University and a Guggenheim Fellow.
As a scholar, he has amassed a distinctive array of accomplishments and experiences throughout his career both in academia and research. His tenure includes teaching stints at Columbia University and Washington University in St. Louis, and he was a Research Professor at Sweet Briar College. At present, he fulfills the role of Scholar in Residence at Washington & Lee University. His academic prestige is further highlighted by two prestigious fellowships, the Guggenheim Fellowship and the Weatherhead Fellowship at the School of Advanced Research.
Stone has provided significant contributions to the Anthropology & Environment Society, where he once held the position of president. His leadership role within the society indicates his proactive engagement with the academic community and his commitment to the advancement of his field. In recognition of his work, Stone received the Morley Alumni Science Medal from Western Reserve Academy, an honor that underscores his influential role in the scientific community.
