Gina Brillon Biography
Gina Brillon is a Puerto Rican comedian, actress, writer, and podcaster who has established a distinctive presence in stand-up comedy. Brillon has built her career on sharp wit, relatable storytelling, and a willingness to draw from her own life experiences. Early in her career, Brillon performed at venues including Carolines, The Comedy Store, and The Laugh Factory in both Los Angeles and New York City. She became the first Latina winner of the Stand Up for Diversity Showcase and was named a New Face at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal.
Brillon's television career includes appearances on programs such as "Gotham Comedy Live," "The View," "Late Night with Seth Meyers," "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," "Kevin Can Wait," and "The Conners." She was offered a production deal by Gabriel Iglesias, resulting in her first show, "Pacifically Speaking." Brillon also had a featured role in the film "The Fluffy Movie" and was featured on Gabriel Iglesias' Beyond the Fluffy Tour, performing in cities across the United States. Her half-hour special, "Easily Offended," was among the top shows from the Entre Nos franchise on HBO Latino and is available on all HBO digital platforms.
Brillon gained national recognition as the first Latina American comedian to reach the final of "America's Got Talent." Her special, "The Floor is Lava," streaming on Amazon Prime Video, earned her a Gracie Award. Brillon is also the co-host and executive producer of "The State of: Women," a podcast from Clamor Audio that explores gender equity across the United States.
In her fifth comedy special, "Mind Your Business," Brillon addresses topics such as motherhood, parenthood, travel, and the complexities of the social climate. In addition to her work in comedy and television, Brillon is a singer, published writer, and poet, with pieces appearing in the New York Post and Daily News. Brillon continues to contribute to the fields of stand-up comedy, television, and podcasting, offering perspectives on Latino culture, gender equity, and contemporary social issues.
