Rob Riggle Biography

Actor, comedian, writer, producer, and director Rob Riggle has been a staple in comedic films and television for more than 15 years. Riggle appeared in CBS Films' "Middle School," Netflix's "True Memoirs of an International Assassin" alongside Kevin James, and in Judy Greer's directorial debut, "A Happening of Monumental Proportions." Riggle's previous roles include appearances in "12 Strong" opposite Michael Shannon and Chris Hemsworth for Lionsgate, as well as in Open Road's "Midnight Sun" opposite Bella Thorne and Patrick Schwarzenegger, directed by Scott Speer. His repertoire also boasts roles in hit comedies such as "21 & 22 Jump Street," "The Hangover," "Step Brothers," "UglyDolls," "Let's Be Cops," and "Dumb & Dumber To," as well as voice roles in animated features like "The Lorax," "The Henchmen," and "Just Before I Go," along with a guest appearance in the animated series "Big Mouth."

Riggle can currently be seen in Sony's "Rob Riggle's Ski Master Academy" for Crackle, a project he executive produced, wrote, and starred in. Additionally, he appears in Universal's successful comedy "Night School" opposite Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish, directed by Malcolm Lee.

Beyond his film and television work, Riggle has starred in the Discovery Channel's educational series, "Rob Riggle: Global Investigator," and serves as a color commentator alongside Steph Curry in ABC's sports reality competition series, "Holey Moley."

As he broke into comedy, Riggle was still on active duty with the United States Marine Corps, which he initially joined at the age of 19. Rising through the ranks, Riggle served in various countries including Albania, Kosovo, Liberia, and Afghanistan. Lieutenant Colonel Riggle retired from the Marine Corps Reserve, having served 23 years total (9 years active duty, 14 years in the reserves) and earned more than 22 medals and ribbons including the Combat Action Ribbon.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, and raised in Overland Park, Kansas, Riggle attended Shawnee Mission South High School and graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.A. in Theater & Film. He later received a Master’s in Public Administration from Webster University. He currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
