Wendi McLendon-Covey, widely recognized for her comedic roles, has a vast repertoire of acting and production work. Her performance in "The Goldbergs" as Beverly Goldberg led to two nominations for the Critics' Choice Television Awards for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. McLendon-Covey has also shown her skill in improv as a member of The Groundlings comedy group based in Los Angeles. Her acting prowess was further demonstrated in her roles in "Reno 911!" and the hit comedy film "Bridesmaids."
McLendon-Covey has appeared in films such as "What to Expect When You're Expecting," "The Single Moms Club," "Blended," "Think Like a Man Too," "Hello, My Name Is Doris," and "Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween." In 2019, she took on a leading role in the independent drama film "Blush," and has held recurring roles on other series, such as "Rules of Engagement." Additionally, she co-hosted the pop culture podcast "Generation Ripe" from April 2020 to July 2022.
As an executive producer, McLendon-Covey has contributed to the success of series like "The Goldbergs" and "Reno 911!: The Hunt for QAnon," which earned her a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Television Movie. In 2023, she starred as Vicky White in the Lifetime movie "Bad Romance: The Vicky White Story," where she also served as an executive producer. In 2024, she began starring in "St. Denis Medical," a medical mockumentary.
