Tarek El Moussa is the star of HGTV’s hit show "Flipping 101 w/ Tarek El Moussa" currently in its second season. In addition to successfully flipping more than 500 properties and selling over 1,000 houses, El Moussa is a successful Entrepreneur, Real Estate Expert and Investor with a portfolio of over 100 properties, a wholesale real estate company and a production company.

"Flipping 101 w/ Tarek El Moussa" features El Moussa as he mentors real estate novices to help them learn the secrets of a successful flip and how to avoid costly mistakes. With more than 500 profitable sales under his belt, El Moussa lends his invaluable expertise to those who want to win big in the competitive real estate game.

El Moussa’s digital series, "Tarek’s Flip Side" premiered on discovery+ and showcases his personal life, including his wedding plans with wife Heather Rae El Moussa and teaching the house-flipping business to his daughter Taylor.

El Moussa will also star in "The Flipping El Moussas" (wt), a new eight-episode HGTV docuseries and will bring his wife Heather Rae into the fold of his flipping empire. This new series is slated to air in 2023.

His newest project is that of author. El Moussa's "Flip Your Life: Lessons From The World's Most Famous House Flipper" will be out winter 2024 (Hachette Go). The book will share candid behind-the-scenes stories of resilience and recovery from the author's personal and professional setbacks, while offering a practical and easy-to-use guide for anyone to overcome the worst and win big in real estate or any endeavor.

Born into an immigrant family in Buena Park, California, El Moussa’s hard-driving father taught him the value of hard work, the importance of a healthy competitive spirit and how to push himself to higher limits. At the age of 20, El Moussa dropped out of college to enroll in Real Estate School. At 21, he received his real estate license and quickly made a name for himself in Orange County, California, becoming the top agent in his company. By 22, he bought his first million-dollar home.

At the height of the housing boom, he was selling multi-million-dollar mansions like hotcakes but when the housing bubble burst, El Moussa went broke and was forced to move into his parent’s garage. In the time period between sleeping next to the family station wagon and cans of paint, El Moussa devised a plan to rebuild his wealth. He then carved out a new niche for himself in the world of real estate: flipping distressed properties. Through his drive and the generosity of friends, family and business mentors, El Moussa landed back on his feet and became a multi-millionaire.

Since then, El Moussa has purchased and flipped hundreds of properties. In 2012, he sold the idea of a house flipping show to HGTV "Flip or Flo"p with a guarantee of ten episodes. Eight years later, he had over 140 episodes under his belt, with his biggest on-air profit of over $340,000 before deciding to end the show run even though the show continuously held a top spot on HGTV. His show has inspired the "Flip or Flop" franchise in Nashville, Chicago, Atlanta, Las Vegas and Fort Worth. El Moussa owns his own production company in which he is the Executive Producer of "Chi-Town Flip." The series is also available on demand across all platforms and on the HGTV app.

After being diagnosed with thyroid cancer by a Flip or Flop viewer in 2013 and soon after with testicular cancer, today El Moussa is thankful to be cancer-free. As a two-time cancer survivor, El Moussa donates his time and lends his voice to a number of cancer focused charities, including the American Cancer Society and the Movember Foundation to help create awareness. In addition, El Moussa is also involved with Habitat for Humanity, helping to bring affordable housing to those in need.

El Moussa’s number one priority is being a hands-on dad and spending time with his two children, daughter Taylor and son Brayden, and wife Heather Rae El Moussa of Netflix’s "Selling Sunset." They are currently expecting, baby boy El Moussa is due to arrive in early 2023. When he is not filming his hit HGTV shows, El Moussa travels the country as an in-demand speaker sharing his experiences as a successful businessman, house flipper and a two-time cancer survivor.
