Saving Abel Biography
Saving Abel is an American rock band from Corinth, Mississippi, formed in 2004 by Jared Weeks and Jason Null. In early 2005, the pair’s songs caught the ear of noted producer Skidd Mills who took the band into his 747 Studios in Memphis. Saving Abel came together with guitarist Scott Bartlett, bassist Eric Taylor and drummer Blake Dixon.
In 2006, Saving Abel independently self-released their first album, “Addicted.”
The band was then signed to Virgin Records and released their self-titled, major label debut album in March 2008. The album features the lead single "Addicted," which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. The album peaked at No. 49 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. The album was later certified gold.
In April 2009, Saving Abel released an EP titled “18 Days Tour.” The EP contains an acoustic version of the song "18 Days" along with two unreleased songs.
The band continued work on their second album throughout late 2009 and early 2010. Their album, titled "Miss America," was released in June 2010, also offering a downloadable acoustic version of "The Sex Is Good." The first single from the album, “Stupid Girl (Only In Hollywood),” was released as a digital single and peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. The album peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard 200 and No. 4 on the Rock Albums chart.
