Reid Priddy Biography
Reid Priddy is recognized as one of the most accomplished volleyball players in the United States, competing at the highest levels of the sport for more than two decades. A four-time Olympian, Priddy represented the United States Men's Indoor Volleyball Team at the Olympic Games, earning a gold medal in Beijing and a bronze medal in Rio de Janeiro. At the Beijing Games, he finished fourth among all scorers and second among U.S. scorers with 112 points on 93 kills, 10 blocks, and nine aces. His bronze-medal performance in Rio included a pivotal role in Team USA's five-set victory over defending champion Russia, following a recovery from a torn ACL.
Priddy's foundation in volleyball was established at Loyola Marymount University, where he earned a degree in communication studies and became a three-time AVCA All-American outside hitter. He led the team in kills and aces before joining the USA National Team, and was the first men's volleyball player to be named All-American at LMU and the first to be inducted into the university's Athletics Hall of Fame. Priddy was also named USA Volleyball Men's Player of the Year and contributed to the U.S. team's gold medal at the FIVB World League.
After retiring from indoor volleyball following the Rio Games, Priddy transitioned to professional beach volleyball at age 39. He played professionally in six countries over 15 years of indoor competition, including seasons in Greece, Russia, Turkey, and Italy, and brought that experience to the AVP Tour. In his first two seasons, he reached six semifinals and went on to win the Manhattan Beach Open with partner Trevor Crabb, a highly regarded title in beach volleyball.
Off the court, Priddy has applied his competitive experience to entrepreneurial and educational initiatives. He created the "Max Potential Process" mindset course and co-founded the "InSand" fitness methodology, both designed to support personal development and athletic performance. He also co-founded the internet radio show "The NET Live," dedicated to the volleyball community. Priddy's journey, including overcoming double knee surgery and competing at an elite level into his forties, positions him as a speaker on resilience, peak performance, and mastery in sports and life.
