Po-Shen Loh Biography
Po-Shen Loh is a social entrepreneur and inventor who blends mathematics, science, and technology with firsthand exploration of the human experience. His diverse innovations in the global landscape of work, AI, and education have been featured by major newspapers. His latest initiative brings together math stars and actors to reimagine how students learn.
Loh earned a silver medal for Team USA at the 1999 International Mathematical Olympiad and later spent a decade as the team’s national coach. He is also a Hertz Fellow, joining a community of broadly innovative scientists whose history traces to the Manhattan Project and the Space Race.
He personally speaks in more than 100 cities each year on education in the age of AI — from conferences and public lectures to substitute-teaching in K–12 classrooms, visiting companies and labs, and engaging directly with students, parents, researchers, and policymakers. He does so while teaching at Carnegie Mellon University, one of the world’s leading institutions in AI, and running his own EdTech social enterprise.
