Phil Eastman combines more than 25 years of leadership experience with his passion developing leaders, building teams, and enhancing performance.
Phil has served in numerous corporate and community leadership roles. His corporate experience includes 17 years in the banking industry. After achieving progressively more responsible corporate positions, Phil chose to pursue a career where he optimizes the individual and organizational effectiveness of leaders.
As an advisor, consultant, teacher and coach Phil works with a growing and diverse group of clients in a variety of industries and countries. His leadership experience and expertise have made him a sought after speaker and advisor to organizations in the United States, Canada, Asia, Europe and Australia.
Phil is the author of The Character of Leadership: An Ancient Model for a Quantum Age. The book explores the relationship between character and leadership and makes a case for the active development of character to enhance leadership ability. The challenges we face are not economic, environmental, social or legal; they are challenges of character and leadership. Consequently, a model of character is vital to true leadership development.
Phil earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management and Organization from Idaho State University and holds a Master of Arts degree in Theological Studies from Bethel Seminary. He is a graduate of and instructor for the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington. Phil is also a Master Instructor for Prosci's Change Management Learning Center.

Thank you for taking the time to speak to our Downtown Boise Rotary Club. Your book, âThe Character of Leadershipâ aligns well with the values and principles of Rotary. I was excited to hear your presentation and the discussion generated. Needless to say, you hit a homerun. In the 5+ years I have been a Rotarian, we have had numerous speakers visit. We have heard from the Governor, the Mayor, leaders of industry, CEOs of non-profits, and many philanthropic groups. Your discussion on the Character of Leadership, hit a chord rarely seen. The group was engaged and talkative. Partly, because Rotary espouses many of the values you identify. I took note of the following: - Leadership is an extension of character. Our values, our ethics stem from our âfaith â belief systemâ. - Courageous leadership can mean acting when it is uncomfortable or puts you personally at risk. - Leadership is about people. We are not leading machines or systems. We lead people with their own dreams, ambitions, and challenges. There were excellent questions from the audience most of whom are leaders in the Treasure Valley.
