Patricia B. Scott, Ph.D., commenced her career in the academic sphere as a lecturer in the Communication Program at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Her expertise lies in crafting effective communication strategies that augment the impact of presentations, negotiations, sales calls, and interviews. In addition, she has over 15 years of experience in corporate leadership, which has further honed her understanding of the nuances of impactful communication. Since 2004, she has been an integral part of the Wharton MBA program, delivering lectures for the Wharton MBA for Executives Program and the Wharton Executive Education Program at the Aresty Institute for Executive Education.
Dr. Scott's contributions to the field of corporate communication extend beyond her lecturing duties. Her scholarly work was recognized at her first Conference on Corporate Communication where she was bestowed with the "Best Paper of Conference" award for her incisive analysis of social, task, and semantic networks of knowledge workers. This winning paper was later published in the "Corporate Communications: An International Journal". Since 2007, she has been an active participant in the Conference on Corporate Communication, serving annually on the program committee.
Dr. Scott has made her mark as an author with three national best-selling books: "Getting a Squirrel to Focus: Engage and Persuade Today’s Listeners", "Getting a Squirrel to Focus on Presentations: Don’t Just Inform, Transform Your Audience", and "Getting a Squirrel to Focus in the Virtual World; Not Just Content, But Connection". These books further underscore her proficiency in the realm of communication. She has also been a member of the advisory board for the Master of Arts program in Corporate Communication at Baruch College of the City University of New York since 2008.
