Leona Lewis Biography
Leona Lewis burst onto the music scene in 2006 after winning the third season of "The X Factor." Her debut album, "Spirit," released in 2007, was certified 10× platinum in the UK. The album's success was largely due to the single "Bleeding Love," which was the best-selling single of 2007 in the UK. Her music career continued to flourish, with Lewis selling over 35 million records worldwide and gaining recognition through numerous awards, including two MOBO Awards, an MTV Europe Music Award, and two World Music Awards. She also has received three Grammy nominations.
Aside from her music career, Lewis has also ventured into acting. In 2014, she made her film debut in "Walking on Sunshine," and two years later, she made her Broadway debut as Grizabella in the revival of "Cats." In 2021, she joined the Paramount+ show "Queen of The Universe" as a judge. She also recorded "I See You" for the Avatar soundtrack, which earned her Golden Globe and Grammy nominations.
In addition to her accomplishments in the music and acting industries, Lewis is also known for her charitable work. She is an animal rights advocate and maintains a vegan lifestyle. Lewis has worked with a range of organizations, including The Prince’s Trust, RED, MTV Staying Alive, Teenage Cancer Trust, WWF, The Humane Society, and World Animal Protection. As a patron of Hackney Empire and trustee at Hopefield Animal Sanctuary, she continues to use her platform to champion causes close to her heart. She was appointed an Officer of the British Empire for her contributions to music and charity.
