Colbie Caillat Biography
Colbie Caillat, an American singer-songwriter, saw her rise to prominence through the social networking site Myspace. In July 2007, she released her debut album, "Coco," featuring hit singles "Bubbly" and "Realize." The album's success was followed by her second album, "Breakthrough," in 2009, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Caillat's achievements in the music industry extend beyond her solo career. From 2018 to 2020, she was a member of the country music group Gone West, further diversifying her musical repertoire.
Throughout her career, Caillat has been involved in several collaborations with other artists. She recorded a Grammy Award-winning duet with Jason Mraz, titled "Lucky." She has also co-written songs with other artists, notably "We Both Know" with Gavin DeGraw for the 2013 film Safe Haven. In 2016, Caillat launched her own independent label, PlummyLou Records. More recently, in 2021, she signed with Creative Artists Agency and collaborated with Brett Young on a cover of "White Christmas."
Caillat's work has not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by her numerous accolades. She won the Rising Star award at the Billboard Music Awards and was named Billboard magazine's 94th-best-selling music artist of the 2000s. She has also received five Grammy nominations, two of which resulted in awards for her collaborations with Taylor Swift and Jason Mraz. Beyond her music career, Caillat is also known for her charitable work with organizations such as Farm Sanctuary, United Service Organizations, and the Humane Society of the United States.
