Lane Kiffin Biography
Lane Kiffin is the current head football coach at Louisiana State University. Previously, he was the head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels. His record of 112 wins and 53 losses in college football and five wins and 15 losses in the NFL is noteworthy. He has a proven track record of success, including two Conference USA championships in 2017 and 2019. As an assistant coach, he has contributed to three national championships in 2003, 2004, and 2015. During his tenure with the SEC, he led the division three times from 2014 to 2016 as an offensive coordinator.
Kiffin's career has been marked by significant milestones, including his momentous tenure with the Oakland Raiders, where he became the youngest head coach in modern NFL history. His career with the University of Tennessee Volunteers in 2009 saw him become the youngest active head coach in Division I FBS. His coaching strategies and team management at USC resulted in a mixed record, heavily impacted by NCAA sanctions. However, despite the challenges, he helped USC achieve a 10-2 record in 2011, demonstrating his resilience and strategic acumen.
At Ole Miss, Kiffin led the team to its first 11-win season in 2023. His tenure at the University has been marked by success, including 10-win seasons in 2021 and 2023, culminating in a Peach Bowl victory. His coaching tenure at the University has been marked by a commitment to player health, with Ole Miss becoming the first NCAA football team to be 100% vaccinated against COVID-19 before the 2021 season.
