Katy Fike Biography
Katy Fike, Ph.D., is a gerontologist, entrepreneur, and investor whose work integrates technology, finance, and aging. Fike holds an undergraduate degree in systems engineering from the University of Virginia and a doctorate in gerontology from the USC Davis School of Gerontology. Her background includes experience as an analyst at Lehman Brothers, followed by advanced academic research in aging, positioning her as a recognized leader in longevity innovation and senior care.
Fike identified a gap between aging-focused and technology-focused communities, leading to the creation of Aging2.0, a global network dedicated to leveraging technology to improve the lives of older adults. Aging2.0's chapter network operates in more than 120 cities, hosting hundreds of events and fostering a community of over 40,000 innovators across 31 countries. The Aging2.0 Academy, an accelerator program, has supported startups in the aging and senior care sectors with mentorship and resources to scale their businesses.
As a founding partner of Generator Ventures, Fike helped establish the first venture fund dedicated to aging and senior care. Aging2.0, the innovation network and accelerator she co-founded, was acquired by the Louisville Healthcare CEO Council. Fike described the acquisition as a strategic progression for the network in advancing innovation and supporting entrepreneurs in the aging industry.
Fike has been recognized by Fast Company as one of the 100 Most Creative People in Business. She is a frequent speaker on innovation and aging, with appearances in national media including NPR, PBS NewsHour, Bloomberg TV, Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, Forbes, TIME, TechCrunch, and Huffington Post. She has presented at major conferences such as South by Southwest, Consumer Electronics Show, Boomer Venture Summit, American Senior Housing Association, National Investment Center for Seniors Housing, and Senior Living 100. Fike serves on the Board of Directors for the American Society on Aging and the Family Caregiver Alliance. Her research on care transitions has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national conferences, contributing to advancements in senior care and longevity research.
