Jordan Mailata Biography
Jordan Mailata, an Australian-born professional football player, currently serves as an offensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles in the National Football League (NFL). Mailata's journey to the NFL is unique, having transitioned from rugby league to American football through the International Player Pathway Program. Prior to his transition, he played for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs under-18s team and the South Sydney Rabbitohs under-20s team.
Selected by the Eagles in the seventh round, 233rd overall, of the 2018 NFL draft, Mailata has since been pivotal in the Eagles' journey, including their reach to Super Bowl LVII. His role was acknowledged when he was selected to the Second-team All-Pro in 2024. He has also shown commitment to the Eagles, signing a four-year in September 2021, followed by a three-year extension in 2024. Mailata became a Super Bowl champion after the Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX, becoming the first Australian to play in a winning Super Bowl.
Beyond his football career, Mailata has showcased his talent and personality in the entertainment industry. He competed in the seventh season of "The Masked Singer" as "Thingamabob" in 2022 and appeared in the show "Kelce" during the 2022–2023 season. Additionally, Mailata is part of the vocal group The Philly Specials, which released the albums "A Philly Special Christmas" and its sequels. He has also shared his unique transition from rugby to the NFL through various media appearances, including on podcasts like "New Heights."
