Jen Atkin Biography
Jen Atkin is an American hairstylist, entrepreneur, and author known for her influence in the beauty industry. Atkin began her career in Los Angeles at age 19, working in prominent Hollywood salons and joining the hair team for Madonna's Confessions Tour, which marked an early milestone in her rise within celebrity styling. Her clientele includes the Kardashian-Jenner sisters, Hailey Bieber, Dua Lipa, Chrissy Teigen, and Katy Perry, establishing her as a sought-after stylist in Hollywood.
Atkin founded the beauty brand OUAI, which became recognized for its hair care products and later expanded into body, fragrance, and lifestyle offerings. OUAI was acquired by Procter & Gamble after its growth from a small selection in Sephora stores to a staple in the beauty retail sector. Atkin also established Mane Addicts, a digital platform and community hub for hairstylists and beauty enthusiasts.
Following the acquisition of OUAI, Atkin launched Mane, a hair tools brand focused on sustainability and accessibility, which expanded into brick-and-mortar retail through Sephora locations in the United States and Canada. Atkin also co-founded Highlight Artists, a management company dedicated to supporting emerging talent in the beauty and glam industry.
As an author, Atkin wrote "Blowing My Way to the Top: How to Break the Rules, Find Your Purpose, and Create the Life and Career You Deserve," detailing her journey from a conservative upbringing to building a recognized brand in the beauty sector. She addresses the challenges women face in business and shares her expertise as the first hairstylist to join the MasterClass platform, where she educates a global audience on hair care and styling. Atkin's career reflects her experience in entrepreneurship, personal branding, and resilience within the beauty and hair care industry.
