Jeffrey E. Gundlach is a prominent figure in global finance, recognized for his expertise in fixed-income investing and asset management. Gundlach graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College with degrees in mathematics and philosophy, and attended Yale University for doctoral studies in mathematics before transitioning to a career in finance.
He joined TCW Group in the mid-1980s, initially working as a portfolio manager with a focus on quantitative analysis. Gundlach founded DoubleLine, an investment management firm specializing in fixed-income strategies, with a team of former colleagues.
