Jason Gorevic Biography
Jason Gorevic is recognized for his impact on digital health and virtual care. Gorevic began his career at Oxford Health Plans, where he held roles in marketing and operations. At Oxford, he designed, built, and managed a telephone medical advice line staffed by registered nurses, a pioneering service in the managed-care segment that became an industry standard. He later held senior executive positions at Empire BlueCross BlueShield and WellPoint Inc., where, as president of Empire BlueCross BlueShield, he managed operations and profitability for the New York region. He received WellPoint's Pinnacle Award for leadership.
As CEO of Teladoc Health, Gorevic led the company's strategy and growth, guiding its transformation from a telehealth startup to a multi-billion dollar, publicly traded company serving millions globally. Under his leadership, Teladoc became the world's largest telehealth company, expanding revenue, membership, and telehealth utilization. Gorevic oversaw the merger with Livongo Health, a major deal in digital health, which integrated chronic condition management into Teladoc's platform and created a comprehensive virtual care solution. Teladoc became the first telehealth company to reach 1 million visits, demonstrating the platform's scale and influence in healthcare technology.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Gorevic directed Teladoc's operational expansion to meet increased demand, reinforcing virtual care's role in healthcare delivery. He has been a keynote speaker on health and wellness, healthcare innovation, digital health, and medicine, and has participated in global forums such as the World Economic Forum to discuss the future of healthcare delivery.
Gorevic was recognized by Ernst & Young as a regional winner of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Award and was named to Crain's New York Business 40 Under 40 executives. Modern Healthcare magazine listed him among the most influential people in healthcare. Gorevic serves on the Board of Directors for Kemper Corporation, participating in the Risk and Human Resources and Compensation Committees, and is a board member of New York Road Runners.
