Inder Singh Biography
Inder Singh is a social entrepreneur and public health innovator known as the founder and CEO of Kinsa, a health technology company focused on real-time disease surveillance. Before founding Kinsa, Singh served as executive vice president of the Clinton Foundation's Clinton Health Access Initiative, a global nonprofit organization addressing malaria, HIV/AIDS, and other diseases. At the Clinton Health Access Initiative, Singh managed a team of 55 professionals across 10 countries, implementing market-based strategies to address health challenges and reduce poverty in developing regions. He negotiated agreements with more than 20 companies in the United States, India, China, and Europe, resulting in significant drug price reductions, substantial cost savings, and expanded access to HIV and anti-malarial treatments for millions of people.
Singh holds degrees from the University of Michigan, MIT Sloan School of Management, Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology, and Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. After working in Silicon Valley, Singh applied his expertise in global health and technology to epidemic prevention. He founded Kinsa with the goal of enabling real-time tracking of disease spread. Kinsa's flagship product, a smartphone-connected thermometer, works with a mobile app to aggregate anonymized temperature and symptom data, transforming the device into a public health surveillance tool. The company's AI-powered Insights platform has served millions of users and more than 100 enterprises, providing predictive analytics for pharmaceutical companies, retailers, public health agencies, and hospital systems.
Under Singh's leadership, Kinsa developed an early warning system capable of predicting flu outbreaks up to 20 weeks in advance. The company's data-driven approach to disease prevention has been validated by academic studies and cited by major news outlets, including the New York Times, CNBC, CNN, and Fox News. Singh has testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, advocating for the use of big data in public health while emphasizing the importance of privacy protection.
Singh is recognized for his work at the intersection of technology, public health, and global equity. He has addressed audiences at institutions such as the University of Pennsylvania, promoting U.S. engagement in global healthcare. Singh's career spans negotiating drug pricing for developing nations and building consumer health technology platforms for real-time disease detection, contributing to advancements in public health surveillance and epidemic response.
