Dan Levy is a Canadian actor, writer, director, and producer known for his contributions to television and film. Levy began his career as an on-air host for MTV Canada's MTV Live and The After Show, which included programming such as The Hills: The After Show and The City: Live After Show. These early roles provided experience in television hosting and production.
Levy co-created the sitcom "Schitt's Creek" with his father, Eugene Levy. On the series, Levy starred as David Rose and also served as writer, director, and executive producer. The show developed a dedicated following for its storylines, characters, and writing. Over six seasons, "Schitt's Creek" achieved significant recognition, including a sweep of all seven major comedy categories at the Primetime Emmy Awards. Levy became the first individual to win Emmy Awards for writing, directing, acting, and producing in the same year. He and Eugene Levy were also the first father-and-son duo to win Emmy Awards in the same year.
"Schitt's Creek" received numerous awards and nominations, including Critics Choice Awards, SAG Awards, and a GLAAD Media Award for Best Comedy Series. Levy earned four Canadian Screen Awards for his work on the show.
