Dominic Sandoval, known professionally as D-Trix, is an American dancer, choreographer, YouTube personality, and television figure whose career spans competitive dance, broadcast television, and digital entertainment. Sandoval began breakdancing at age 13, performing at NBA and WNBA games, and won the Evolution 2 competition in Orlando, Florida, with his breaking crew Flexible Flav. Seeking to expand beyond his b-boy roots, Sandoval pursued mastery in various dance styles and genres to be recognized as a versatile dancer.
Sandoval launched his professional career by competing on "So You Think You Can Dance," finishing as a Top 8 finalist and joining a 50-city arena tour. He later joined Quest Crew, a Los Angeles-based group blending hip-hop, popping, and b-boying, contributing his breakdancing expertise. Quest Crew competed in the third season of MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew" and emerged as champions, defeating finalists such as Beat Freaks and Strikers All-Stars. Following this victory, Sandoval became a judge on America's Best Dance Crew.
Sandoval's television presence continued to grow, with appearances on "Snoop Dogg After Dark," the Teen Choice Awards with Sean Kingston, and the NBA All-Star Game intro with Usher. After serving as an All-Star on "So You Think You Can Dance," Sandoval appeared multiple times on The Ellen Show and later returned to "So You Think You Can Dance" as a judge. His choreographic work with Quest Crew earned three Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Choreography, marking the first time a dance crew received this recognition. Sandoval also choreographed for The Lab, a team from West Covina, California, which won "World of Dance."
Sandoval expanded his influence in digital entertainment by launching the YouTube channel "theDOMINICshow," featuring dance videos, food challenges, and comedic skits. The channel has accumulated more than 700 million views and earned back-to-back Streamy Awards in the Dance category. Sandoval also hosted the online web series "Dance Showdown," further bridging professional dance and digital media. His acting credits include starring as Melvin in the short film "Agents of Secret Stuff" by Wong Fu Productions.
