Christopher Lloyd is widely recognized for his roles as Emmett Brown in the "Back to the Future" trilogy and Jim Ignatowski in the comedy series "Taxi", both of which have earned him multiple Emmy Awards. In 1992, his guest appearance as Alistair Dimple in "Road to Avonlea" brought him a third Emmy. Lloyd has also been acknowledged for his performance in "Twenty Bucks", which won him an Independent Spirit Award. His extensive voice work includes roles in "DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp", "Anastasia", PBS Kids' "Cyberchase", and Cartoon Network's "Over the Garden Wall", garnering him Daytime Emmy nominations.
Lloyd's recent filmography includes roles in "I Am Not a Serial Killer" and "Nobody." His portrayal of Emmett "Doc" Brown in the "Back to the Future" trilogy led to a Saturn Award nomination. Lloyd's television roles extend to appearances in "Street Hawk", "Amazing Stories", and "Road to Avonlea", the latter earning him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. He reprised his role as Dr. Emmett Brown in "Back to the Future: The Game", a series developed by Telltale Games in 2010. Lloyd has also made appearances in the television series "Fringe", "Robot Chicken", "Psych", "Roseanne", and its spin-off "The Conners".
Lloyd's notable voice roles include Xehanort in the "Re Mind" downloadable content of "Kingdom Hearts III" and the 2020 video game "Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory". He was cast as The Alchemist in "Man & Witch" in July 2020 and starred alongside William Shatner in the romantic comedy film "Senior Moment". Lloyd also portrayed Rick Sanchez in promotional interstitials for "Rick and Morty" in September 2021. In 2022, he starred in "Spirit Halloween: The Movie" and made appearances in "The Adam Project" and "The Mandalorian". He also starred in the live-action "Knuckles" series, which premiered in April 2024. His achievements extend to stage work, with an Obie Award for Distinguished Performance in "Kaspar" in 1973 and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for "Road to Avonlea" in 1992.
