Carlo Ancelotti Biography
Carlo Ancelotti is a highly successful football manager with an illustrious playing history. As a midfielder, Ancelotti had a highly distinguished career, most notably with AS Roma and AC Milan. His time at Milan saw him secure multiple Serie A titles and two European Cups, providing him with a deep understanding of elite football that would later shape his managerial career.
Ancelotti transitioned into coaching in the mid-1990s and quickly ascended the managerial ranks. He managed top-tier Italian clubs such as Parma and Juventus before achieving significant success with AC Milan. During his tenure from 2001 to 2009, he led the club to two UEFA Champions League titles, a Serie A title, and numerous other domestic and international accolades. Ancelotti's tactical adaptability, composed demeanor, and adeptness at managing high-profile players were key factors in this success.
His managerial career extended beyond Italy, and he found success in various top leagues. He led Chelsea to win the Premier League and FA Cup double in his first season in 2009–10. Ancelotti also managed Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Napoli, and Everton, before returning to Real Madrid in 2021. His tenure at Real Madrid was marked by his historic achievement of becoming the first manager to win the UEFA Champions League five times and the only manager to win league titles in all of Europe's top five leagues. Additionally, he won the FIFA Club World Cup three times and the UEFA Super Cup five times. In May 2025, Ancelotti began a new chapter in his career as the manager of the Brazil national team, marking his first international experience as a full-time coach.
His achievements have earned him numerous awards, including The Best FIFA Men's Football Coach in 2024, IFFHS World's Best Club Coach in 2007, 2014, and 2022, and UEFA Men's Coach of the Year Award for the 2021-22 season. Ancelotti's expertise and influence extend beyond the pitch.
