Dr. Alex Ellis is transforming lives, one redefined image at a time. An award-winning author, international speaker, activist, and connoisseur of style, Dr. Ellis is turning heads across the nation through his inspirational message of building a positive image from the inside out. He has been featured on CNN, Good Morning America, BET, Black Enterprise’s Our World Television Show, The 700 Club, the Steve Harvey Morning Show, and Sirius XM Satellite Radio. Dr. Ellis has been honored with the distinguished BE Modern Man award from Black Enterprise.
Dr. Ellis passionately delivers a fresh perspective that empowers people to reach their maximum potential. He has taken this message to global audiences including Disney, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, UNCF, National Black MBA Association, and notable colleges and universities such as UCLA, Rutgers, Howard, Villanova, Morehouse, and USC, amongst several others. Whether speaking to audiences in Frankfurt, Germany, or empowering young men and women in the U.S., Dr. Ellis travels extensively sharing his message of defying mediocrity.
This New Jersey native proves to be one of this era’s leading men by accepting his responsibility for social impartation. His nonprofit organization "Tied to Greatness", is an international mentoring initiative that has impacted more than 10,000 inner-city high school males in the U.S. and abroad. Dr. Ellis has called men to take action by role modeling an alternative image of success. His program educates young men on the importance of both internal and external image, involving community male role models who present ties to the students and teach them how to tie them. His goal is to teach young men to convey their inner and outer personalities by displaying strong character, pride, and dignity. His award-winning book, "Restoring the Male Image…A Look from the Inside Out," urges men to take a deeper look at themselves to determine if their personal brand reflects their authentic self.
Dr. Ellis received a Bachelor of Science Degree at North Carolina A & T State University. He graduated Cum Laude from New Brunswick Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts Degree and went on to earn his Doctor of Ministry Degree from there as well. Dr. Ellis is a member of the Disney Dreamer’s Academy Speaker Resource Group, a Leadership Newark Fellow, and a proud member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
