Zachary Garner Biography
Zachary Garner grew up in Indiana and joined the U.S. Army in 2004. He served for 10.5 years, completing multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, closing out his career at 7th Special Forces Group as a Green Beret. In 2015, Zack rode a bicycle across the United States (5,500 miles) to raise awareness around mental health issues in the military, and non pharmaceutical options for them. After being hit by a car during a half ironman, he then realized he missed serving his country, and deployed 4 additional times as a contractor.
In 2020 Garner was diagnosed with necrotizing fasciitis, which would later spread into his bones and heart. Spending ten months in the hospital and over 30 surgeries, Garner was forced to find a new purpose for himself. That purpose became sharing his experience and the lessons he learned throughout his recovery with the veteran/civilian community, in hopes of providing solutions to obstacles they face.
