Spectacular Smith Biography
Spectacular Smith, born Spectacular Blue Smith, is an American rapper, entrepreneur, keynote speaker, and philanthropist recognized as a founding member of the Grammy-nominated Miami R&B and hip-hop group Pretty Ricky. Smith began dancing in third grade and continued performing into adulthood, forming Pretty Ricky with his brothers. As a rapper and choreographer, Smith organized stage routines that contributed to the group's commercial success, including a deal with Atlantic Records, sold-out arenas on the Scream IV tour, and chart-topping hits such as "Grind With Me," "On the Hotline," and "Your Body." "Grind With Me" reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and achieved platinum certification, while "Your Body" peaked at No. 12 and was certified gold. The group also released the chart-topping album "Late Night Special," featuring "On the Hotline."
After Pretty Ricky's momentum slowed due to financial mismanagement by their manager, Smith faced significant challenges, including homelessness. He shifted focus to entrepreneurship, exploring the business potential of social media. By experimenting with Pretty Ricky's Facebook page, Smith developed strategies for gaining and monetizing followers, which led to the creation of Adwizar, a company specializing in social media management and monetization. Adwizar has managed accounts for artists including Bow Wow, Kevin Gates, Soulja Boy, Master P, and Birdman.
Featured in Forbes Magazine, Smith coaches artists and startups on branding and social media strategy. Black Enterprise estimated his net worth at $65 million, and Adwizar has been recognized on the Entrepreneur 360 list of America's Best Privately-Owned Companies. Smith furthered his business education at Harvard Business School and authored the best-selling e-book "Spectacular Love," sharing insights on love, sex, and relationships.
Smith returned to the stage with Pretty Ricky for the Millennium Tour, a leading hip-hop and R&B tour. In addition to Adwizar, he operates Spectacular Academy, a program that educates aspiring entrepreneurs on building and scaling businesses. Smith continues to work as a digital entrepreneur, keynote speaker, and philanthropist, maintaining his connection to music as an active member of Pretty Ricky. His career spans the music industry, digital marketing, and business education, offering expertise in resilience, reinvention, and entrepreneurial thinking.
