Scotty McCreery Biography
Scotty McCreery is a country singer who first captured the public's attention by winning the tenth season of "American Idol" in 2011. Following his victory, he released his debut studio album, Clear as Day, which received platinum certification in the United States, signaling an auspicious start to his career. The track "I Love You This Big" from the album entered the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart at number 32 and later received gold certification.
McCreery's subsequent albums, from Christmas with Scotty McCreery to Same Truck, consistently garnered acclaim and chart success, with Seasons Change featuring "Five More Minutes," a song that set a record by charting without the backing of a record label. In total, McCreery has six number-one singles and six RIAA-certified multi-platinum/platinum/gold projects under his belt.
Throughout his career, McCreery has shown his versatility by not only recording songs but also performing at high-profile events, such as the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the "CMA Country Christmas" special. He sang the National Anthem at Game 1 of the World Series in 2011. His prowess as a live performer was further recognized when he opened for Brad Paisley and The Band Perry on tour in 2012. McCreery's commitment to his craft is also evident in his publishing endeavors: in 2016, he released a book titled "Go Big or Go Home."
Offstage, McCreery, a graduate of Garner Magnet High School and a communications major from North Carolina State University, is known for his philanthropic activities, such as raising $60,000 for the 12.14 Foundation and recording "Angels Among Us" for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
