Scott Hess is the EVP/Human Intelligence at Publicis Media. He's one of the leading experts on American youth in general, and the Millennial generation in particular. (Scott is also one of the most quoted experts on the “Post Generation,” his name for the cohort that follows Millennials, which some folks insist on referring to as “Gen Z.”) In 2015, Adweek named him a “Media All Star,” calling him “one of the most admired media agency execs.”
Over the past decade, Scott has delivered more than 500 presentations and speeches to audiences ranging from four to 4,000, in boardrooms, basements, and conference halls from New York, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles to Istanbul and Paris. He’s appeared in (or on) Ad Age, Adweek, The Atlantic, the BBC, Bloomberg, INC., Fast Company, Forbes, FORTUNE, NPR, the New York Times, TIME magazine, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and many more. And he’s advised a diverse roster of influencers and leaders, ranging from a rooftop meeting with LeBron James’ manager Maverick Carter to a videoconference with a group of Special Forces leaders at an undisclosed location.

In recent years, Scott has been a featured speaker at several MAGIC (apparel) conferences in Las Vegas; has wowed global marketers in Paris and Istanbul; and has been a popular presenter and panelist at a vast array of professional conferences spanning categories ranging from automotive to music to sports.
He was a featured presenter at JP Morgan’s exclusive annual “Deer Valley” summit, holding forth on youth trends before an audience that included business leaders like Howard Stringer, Anne Mulcahy: Rupert Murdoch, Gerry Laybourne, Jeffrey Immelt, and Les Moonves. And Scott was invited by Undersecretary of Public Diplomacy Judith McHale to address several hundred public affairs officers from around the world who’d gathered at the State Department to consider how to connect more effectively with global youth.
His client roster includes a global who's who of Millennial-relevant brands, spanning Nike and Adidas, ESPN and MTV, American Eagle and Hot Topic, Coke and Pepsi, Activision and Electronic Arts, and Taco Bell and Starbucks, to name but a few. And his TEDx talk, "Millennials: Who They Are & Why We Hate Them" has generated more than 300,000 YouTube views and counting.
Earlier in his career Scott served as the VP/Content for pioneering online music portal RollingStone.com; he also led one of Andersen Consulting’s (now Accenture) first research forays into the online world, “Emerging Models of Commerce and Community on the Internet.”
Scott is a twenty-year native of the Bucktown neighborhood in Chicago, where he lives with his wife, two sons, and an ongoing roster of rescued dogs.
