Peter Russian Biography
Peter Russian leads the Consulting and Partnership arm of Turn the Ship Around LLC (currently being rebranded the Intent-Based Leadership Institute in July 2019) He is responsible for the delivery of services which help organizations to implement the principles and practices of Intent-Based Leadership including organization review, training and development, consultancy, business improvement and coaching based development.
He has worked with organizations in Australia, China, the US, Canada, Switzerland, Germany and his own country of Scotland. He works with organizations of all types, including two of of the world’s largest food producers, one of the top 5 energy companies, a multinational bioscience business, a professional soccer team, a UK Fire and Rescue service, and a number of public bodies.
Peter brings extensive experience from business to his role, having been the Chief Executive of Investors in People Scotland between 2003 and 2017 before leading the rebranding of the organization to become Remarkable reflecting the aspiration and range of consultancy services he developed during his tenure.
He has wide experience in non-Executive Roles in Scotland, England, leading organization change at Social Investment Scotland and the Centre for Enterprise. He has been a member of numerous panels and committees including the UK Council for Leadership and Management, the UK National Training Awards, the CBI Scotland Council, Devonshire House Scotland (Chair) and the Scottish Football Association Club Academy Scotland Assessment Panel.
Peter was a co-leader of a ground-breaking development program in Northern Kenya supporting the development of leaders and managers in local communities in Laikipia. In his previous role as Director of Development at Investors in People UK he led the development of international partnerships including work with government in South Africa, Oman and the Cayman Islands.
He was the recipient of the 2012 HR Network Award for Outstanding Contribution to HR in Scotland, and was a finalist in the Sir Alex Ferguson award for Leadership 2015.
