O.A.R., a rock band, is widely recognized for its vibrant live performances and relentless touring schedule. Established in 1996, the band hails from Rockville, Maryland and is comprised of Marc Roberge, Chris Culos, Richard On, Benj Gershman, and Jerry DePizzo, alongside touring members Jon Lampley and Mikel Paris. Over the course of their career, they have released ten studio albums and six live records, including the recent "Live From Boston" in December 2024. Their fifth album, "Stories of a Stranger," catapulted them into the mainstream with hit singles "Love and Memories," "Heard the World," and "Lay Down."
A testament to their popularity, O.A.R. sold out New York City's Madison Square Garden in 2006, drawing a crowd of approximately 18,000 fans. Their tenth album, "The Arcade," was released on July 15, 2022, and their single "Shattered (Turn the Car Around)" reached number 2 in the Adult Top 40. Further demonstrating their success, "The Rockville LP" debuted at number 13 on Billboard's top 200 and number 1 on independent albums. Adding variety to their performance venues, they played with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in December 2012, and performed live from Times Square on December 31, 2014.
O.A.R. has not only made waves in the music world, they have also made significant contributions to charitable causes. They founded the Heard The World foundation to support youth and education programs, and have partnered with SAIC to raise funds for the Paralyzed Veterans of America through their song "Light Switch Sky." Lending their talents to various events, they performed at the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games, and Marc Roberge and Jon Lampley performed the Star Spangled Banner before an NHL game on March 5, 2022.
