Jay Jurden Biography
Jay Jurden is a New York–based comedian, writer, and actor originally from Mississippi. Known for his sharp wit and dynamic stage presence, Jurden has performed stand-up across the country and made multiple appearances on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." He has also been featured on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," "The Late Late Show with James Corden," "Comedy Central Featuring," and HBO’s "High Maintenance."
Most recently, Jurden served as a Staff Writer for Apple TV+’s Emmy-nominated series "The Problem With Jon Stewart," earning a Writers Guild of America nomination in 2023 for the show’s “Election Wrap-Up Special.” His writing has also appeared in The New Yorker, Vulture, Teen Vogue, and McSweeney’s, as well as in Marvel’s Voices: X-Men #1.
Jurden’s debut comedy album, Jay Jurden, Y’all, premiered at number one on iTunes, and his first special, "Yes Ma’am," was released on Hulu in 2025. Recognized as one of Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch” in 2022 and featured in Vulture’s “Comedians You Should and Will Know” list in 2020, Jurden continues to be celebrated for his distinctive voice and fearless humor.
