Desi Lydic Biography
Desi Lydic is a comedian, actress, and writer recognized for her work in late-night television and political satire. Lydic serves as a rotating host and senior correspondent on the late-night talk and news satire program "The Daily Show." Her career began with a role in the parody film "Not Another Teen Movie," followed by appearances in the Spike miniseries "Invasion Iowa" with William Shatner and the parody series "The Real Wedding Crashers." She also appeared as Shea Seger in the film "We Bought a Zoo" with Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson, and in "The Babymakers" with Olivia Munn.
After relocating to Los Angeles, Lydic became active in improvisational comedy, performing at The Groundlings and Improv Olympic. She portrayed guidance counselor Valerie Marks on the MTV comedy-drama series "Awkward." Lydic joined "The Daily Show with Trevor Noah" as a correspondent, where her segments are known for their satirical approach to current events and media analysis. Lydic has described her role as combining comedic performance with a sense of journalistic responsibility, particularly when addressing serious topics through humor.
Lydic starred in and co-wrote the Comedy Central special "Desi Lydic: Abroad," which examined gender equality in various countries and received a Writers Guild of America Award nomination.
