Cody Simpson Biography
Cody Simpson, an Australian singer, songwriter, and competitive athlete, first gained recognition in 2010 when he released his debut single, "iYiYi," which reached the top 10 charts in Australia. Over his musical career, Simpson has released four solo studio albums, including "Paradise," "Surfers Paradise," "Free," and "Cody Simpson." He also formed a band, Cody Simpson and the Tide, which released an EP titled "Wave One" in 2017. In addition to his music, Simpson has also made a mark in the television industry, participating in the 18th season of "Dancing with the Stars," winning the first season of "The Masked Singer Australia," and guest-starring in sitcoms like "Instant Mom" and "Cougar Town."
Simpson's talents are not confined to the entertainment industry, however. He has also made strides in the world of sports, particularly swimming. After returning to competitive swimming in 2019 and joining the University of Southern California's Trojan Swim Elite team, Simpson qualified for the Australian Olympic trials in the 100-metre butterfly in December 2020. He joined the Australian Swim Team in 2022 and won medals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham for 4×100 m freestyle and 4×100 m medley representing Australia. His swimming prowess was also highlighted in the documentary "Head Above Water," released on Amazon Prime Video in 2021.
Aside from his achievements in music and sports, Simpson has shown a commitment to environmental issues. He was named the first United Nations Development Programme advocate for oceans in June 2017, and founded his own sustainable clothing line, Prince Neptune: The Label, in August 2022. Additionally, Simpson has also diversified his creative endeavors by releasing a book of poetry titled "Prince Neptune" in April 2020.
