Charlotte Nicdao Biography
Charlotte Nicdao is an Australian actress and composer known for her role as Jackie Lee in "A gURLs wURLd" (2011) and her role as Poppy Li in "Mythic Quest" (2020-).
Nicdao attended Victorian College of Arts and studied jazz and classical music. She began acting in her home country, Australia, and quickly landed a few big roles, including a role in NBC’s "Camp." Her big break happened when she got the role of Jackie in "A gURLs wURLd" after being put forward for the role by her father's acting agent. Nicdao auditioned when she was 17. The show filmed in Sydney, Singapore, and Hamburg so Nicdao completed the final year of high school by distance education with the goal to return to Melbourne and make a career out of jazz singing. Then Nicdao’s agent suggested she try her hand at LA’s infamous pilot season. For Nicdao, the classic Hollywood struggle had a happy ending – landing her dream role as the quirky video-game engineer and designer Poppy Li.
Nicdao is also a composer leaning on her years of intense classical and jazz training to create songs encompassing new pop ideals; songs about carefully calculated unplanned parenthood, violent revenge and - of course - love, are brought to vibrant, vivacious and vivid life by a band of incredible musicians. She released her EP Fish Demo in 2012 and the album Charlotte Nicdao and the Sloth Orchestra in 2014.
