Bhavish Aggarwal is CEO and co-founder of Ola (formerly Olacabs), India's preferred mobile application for personal transportation. Aggarwal founded the company in 2011 with Ankit Bhati, a fellow IIT Bombay alumni. Their aim is to change the way people travel in and around cities, revolutionizing the personal transportation industry. Ola is the first service to offer apps in India that not only book a cab, but also help customers track their cab on their mobile phone until it reaches them. Ola has also developed a driver's app that acts as an in-car navigation and communication device, doubling as a fare meter during the trip. Olacabs was recognized as the best startup of the year at the 2013 India Digital Awards by the Internet and Mobile Association of India. Before starting Ola, Aggarwal worked with Microsoft Research for two years, where he filed two patents and published three papers in international journals. He holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from IIT Bombay.
In 2017, he recieved the Entreprenurur of the year award at the Economic Times Awards. He was named one of Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2018.
