Anne Taylor Biography
Anne Taylor served as the Director of Access Technology (AT) at the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) from 2004-2015. She is co-author of the book "Ensuring Digital Content Accessibility through Policies and Procedures." This book provides readers with a must-have resource to digital accessibility from both a technical and policy perspective. Inaccessible digital interfaces and content often lead to forms of societal discrimination that may be illegal under various laws. This book is unique in that it provides a multi-disciplinary understanding of digital accessibility.
Anne currently serves as the SR Supportability PM Accessibility on the Corporate External and Legal Affairs (CELA) Accessibility Team at Microsoft.
Born in Thailand, she graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1997 with a degree in Computer Information Systems. She worked for two years with a non-profit organization specializing in job placements for the disabled where her task was to teach students how to use access technology. In addition to her degree in Computer Information Systems and her experience training adults to use computers, she brings a most enjoyable verve to her teaching and writing assignments. "Choosing Your Braille Embosser," a thorough and comprehensive review of the Braille embossers on the market today, was published in the October 2001 issue of the Braille Monitor.
