Toby Miller Biography
One of Team USA’s youngest halfpipe riders is generating some of its biggest amplitude. That’s the calling card of 22-year-old Tahoe local Toby Miller, a two-time silver medalist in halfpipe at the junior world championships.
The beginning of the 2017/18 season featured a sixth-place finish at Winter Games New Zealand. He earned fifth place at the 2018 Winter X Games, and won the gold medal at the 2018 Junior World Championships. He finished eighth at the 2019 Winter X games, fourth at the 2019 Snowboard World Championships, and at the Winter-X Games of 2020 and 2022 he achieved seventh place.
Miller started snowboarding when he was 6, and by the age of 13, he was already landing double corks in the halfpipe. He began working with Bud Keene, the longtime former coach of Shaun White, at a young age and now often trains alongside White.
