Kimberly Schlapman Biography
Kimberly Schlapman is a singer in the band Little Big Town and the host of Great American Country’s "Kimberly’s Simply Southern". In 1998, Schlapman helped found Little Big Town.
Born in Cornelia, Georgia, Schlapman moved to Birmingham, Alabama, to attend college at Samford University. Schlapman began singing in church, but competed in many junior high talent shows. Schlapman moved to Nashville with Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild to pursue careers in country music. Little Big Town became well known for the Top 10 single, “Boondocks,” and has since sold over 1.5 million records and received several ACM, CMA and Grammy nominations. The country duo won the 2015 ACM Award for Vocal Group of the Year.
Schlapman's passion for making simple, home cooked recipes with her family and country singing friends back home keeps Schlapman hunting for culinary treasures on the road. The Great American Country series "Kimberly’s Simply Southern" follows Kimberly on tour as she explores the best food across America, and back to her Nashville kitchen where she uses the inspiration to create traditional family recipes.
