Kelis Biography
Kelis, a singer-songwriter and chef, first gained prominence with her 1999 debut studio album "Kaleidoscope," which was inspired by 1970s jazz and disco music. With her third studio album, "Tasty," in 2003, she broke into the mainstream, largely thanks to the hit single "Milkshake." Kelis's musical journey includes collaborations with renowned artists such as Nas, Busta Rhymes, Calvin Harris, and Björk, and her music has seen significant success, particularly in the United Kingdom. She has been recognized at the Brit Awards, Q Awards, NME Awards, and Grammy Awards, and her single "Milkshake" was a top 10 hit in the UK and achieved gold status in the U.S.
In addition to her music career, Kelis ventured into the culinary arts after studying at Le Cordon Bleu, which influenced her sixth studio album, "Food," in 2014. She debuted her sauce line, Feast, in 2013, which was rebranded as Bounty & Full in 2015, and authored the cookbook "My Life on a Plate," released in 2015. Kelis hosted a cooking television series on the Cooking Channel titled "Saucy and Sweet" in 2014 and "Cooked with Cannabis," a competitive cooking series launched by Netflix in 2020. She was also featured in Max's "Selena + Chef." In addition, she participated in the UK version of "The Masked Singer" as the character Daisy and conducted the "Kaleidoscope 20th Anniversary Tour" in 2020.
