JID has been an influential figure in the music industry since he first signed with J. Cole's Dreamville Records in 2017. As a member of the musical collective Spillage Village and the hip-hop group Zoink Gang, he has consistently demonstrated his unique lyrical and musical talent. His debut studio album, "The Never Story," was released in the same year he signed with Dreamville, earning critical acclaim. The success continued with his second album, "DiCaprio 2," in 2018.
Not only did JID's work receive high praise from critics, but it also resonated with a wide audience. His single "Enemy" with Imagine Dragons, which was featured as the theme for Netflix's "Arcane," reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100. His third album, "The Forever Story," released in 2022, peaked at number 12 on the Billboard 200. The album also led to his NPR Tiny Desk Concert performance in September of the same year. JID's discography is further enriched by his contribution to the compilation albums "Revenge of the Dreamers III" and "D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape."
JID's musical talent has also been recognized by the prestigious Grammy Awards. In 2020, he was nominated for Best Rap Performance for "Down Bad" and Best Rap Album for "Revenge of the Dreamers III."
