Jacob Tremblay Biography
Jacob Tremblay is a Canadian actor recognized for his work in film and television, particularly in Hollywood. Tremblay began his acting career at a young age, securing his first major role at age five in the film "The Smurfs 2." He gained widespread attention for his performance opposite Brie Larson in the drama "Room," portraying a young boy living in captivity with his mother. The film and its performances received critical acclaim, earning Tremblay numerous awards, including a Canadian Screen Award for Best Actor and a National Board of Review award for Breakthrough Performance. He was also nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role, becoming the youngest actor nominated for that award and the second-youngest in all categories.
Tremblay continued to build his career with a leading role in the drama "Wonder," where he played a boy living with Treacher Collins syndrome. The film achieved commercial success and was noted for its themes of empathy and acceptance. He expanded his range by appearing in the science fiction thriller "The Predator" and the R-rated comedy "Good Boys."
In addition to live-action roles, Tremblay has contributed to animation and voice acting, voicing Damian Wayne/Robin in "Harley Quinn," the title character in "Luca," and Flounder in "The Little Mermaid." He also voiced a character in the DreamWorks Animation Netflix film "Orion and the Dark," written by Charlie Kaufman.
Tremblay appeared in "The Life of Chuck," written and directed by Mike Flanagan and based on a Stephen King short story, and starred in "Sovereign," a true crime thriller that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. In "Sovereign," he plays Joe Kane, the son of a man involved in the sovereign movement, traveling across the United States. In 2026, Tremblay is featured in the Netflix movie "Unabomber," where he plays a young Ted Kaczynski.
