Emerson Drive Biography
Emerson Drive, a Canadian country music band formed in 1995, launched their inaugural album "Emerson Drive" in 2002. This marked the beginning of a successful musical journey, with their single "Moments" from the album "Countrified" reaching the top of the American charts. This album, released in September 2006, included their first No. 1 single and earned them several accolades. The video for "Moments" won CMT Video of the Year, while the band itself won Group or Duo of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Awards. The album "Countrified" was also nominated for Country Recording of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2007 and Top Vocal Group of the Year at the 42nd Academy of Country Music Awards.
The band continued their musical voyage with the release of the album "Believe" in May 2009, featuring the single "Belongs to You." The following year, "Believe" was nominated as Country Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2010, further solidifying Emerson Drive's place in the music industry. In 2010, demonstrating their entrepreneurial spirit, the band founded their own label, Amdian Records. The subsequent releases included the greatest hits album, "Decade of Drive," in 2011, their seventh studio album, "Roll," in 2012, and their first EP album, "Tilt-a-Whirl," in 2015 on Universal Music Canada.
In their nearly three-decade-long career, Emerson Drive amassed a significant number of awards, including the Canadian Country Music Association Group or Duo of the Year award in 2002, 2003, and 2007, the Chevy Trucks Rising Star Award in 2002, and the Academy of Country Music Top New Vocal Group or Duo award in 2003. As a testament to their musical prowess, they were also nominated for the Grammy Awards for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for "Moments" in 2008. Their discography includes several studio albums and a compilation album "Decade of Drive" in 2011. In November 2023, they released the single "Break Us" and announced their final tour in 2024.
