Danielle Colby-Cushman Biography

Best known for her role on "American Pickers" on History, Danielle is also a filmmaker, small business owner and burlesque performer.

"American Pickers" is in its seventh successful season of filming and Danielle Colby’s part is growing rapidly. She has been featured multiple times on the road with Frank and Mike and has an ever-expanding fan base on social media. Her appearances around the country draw large crowds anxious to hear about her insights on "American Pickers."

Danielle has taken her television presence into the real world with the creation of American Vintage Market. The first event geared toward a younger clientele will be held in her home state of Iowa, and subsequent events are planned for other locations. The goal is nothing less than the first nationally-recognized vintage/antiques show brand.

She's also working on an important documentary about legendary burlesque performer Tempest Storm. Danielle is involved as an Executive Producer on the project. Tempest was mistress to Elvis, mistress to JFK and helped put Bettie Page on the map. The documentary was the winner of Westdoc LA’s Pitchfest prize 2013 and officially selected to pitch at TIFF Industry and Hot Docs Forum.

The interest in the documentary stems from Danielle's first passion, burlesque. She’s a performer, a collector and historian. A self-described unconventional beauty, Danielle is known in the circle as Dannie Diesel, or Dani D. Most recently she was on the esteemed panel of judges who picked Miss Exotic World 2014, Reigning Queen of Burlesque at the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas. Her very own Iowa Burlesque Festival occurs each fall in Davenport.
