Barry Manilow, an Grammy Award-winning, iconic singer-songwriter, musical director, record producer, and pianist, has a career that spans over six decades. Over the years, he has released 51 Top 40 singles on the Adult Contemporary Chart, including 13 that hit number one, and 13 platinum and six multi-platinum albums. Manilow's success as a solo artist is evident in the sale of more than 85 million records worldwide.
His fruitful career also extends to producing Grammy-nominated albums for celebrated artists like Bette Midler, Dionne Warwick, Nancy Wilson, and Sarah Vaughan. A versatile artist, Manilow has written and performed songs for musicals, films, and commercials for corporations such as McDonald's, Pepsi Cola, and Band-Aid.
Manilow's significant accomplishments include winning a Grammy Award, being nominated for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year for his production role on "The Divine Miss M," and earning triple-platinum certification for his album "Barry Manilow Live" from 1977. His musical contributions to television have also been recognized, with "The Barry Manilow Special" winning an Emmy for Outstanding Special–Comedy, Variety or Music. Furthermore, Manilow has made multiple appearances on Dick Clark's productions including "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" and "American Music Awards."
