Max Boot’s latest work of history, The Road Not Taken: Edward Lansdale and the American Tragedy in Vietnam, was a New York Times best-seller and the 2019 finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Biography. Boot was a senior foreign policy adviser to the presidential campaigns of John McCain (2008), Mitt Romney (2012), and Marco Rubio (2016).
