Bob Woodward is a journalistic icon who gained international attention when he and Carl Bernstein broke the deeply disturbing news of the Watergate scandal. The book they wrote - "All the President’s Men" - won a Pulitzer Prize.
Watergate’s theme of secret government is a common thread throughout Woodward’s career that spawned 18 books – all of which went on to become national bestsellers - 13 of them #1 - more than any other contemporary nonfiction author. In the process, Woodward became the ultimate inside man. He has the skill to get insiders to open up - both on the record and off the record – in ways that reveal an intimate yet sweeping portrayal of Washington. His work is meticulous and draws on internal memos, classified documents, meeting notes and hundreds of hours of interviews with most of the key players, including the president.
In 2018, Woodward published his expose of the Trump presidency, "Fear: Trump in the White House." The book is based on hundreds of hours of interviews with people in Trump's administration. It sold 1.1 million copies in its first week of release, making it the fastest selling opener for any book in Simon & Schuster history.
Since then, Woodward has served as an associate editor for "The Washington Post" where he’s worked since 1971. He has won nearly every American journalism award, and the Post won the 1973 Pulitzer Prize for his work with Carl Bernstein on the Watergate scandal. In addition, Woodward was the main reporter for the Post’s articles on the aftermath of the September 11 terrorist attacks that won the National Affairs Pulitzer Prize in 2002. Woodward won the Gerald R. Ford Prize for Distinguished Reporting on the Presidency in 2003.
Woodward’s most recent book, "Rage," is his second on the Trump White House and was released on September 15, 2020. "Rage" includes details about early national security decisions and operations and Trump’s moves as he faces a global pandemic, economic disaster and racial unrest.

Donald Trump, the unconventional candidate, promises to be Donald Trump, the unconventional president. If the past few weeks are any indication, Washington is going to be a very different place. Business is going to have to adjust – but to what?!
Bob Woodward’s and Carl Bernstein’s work uncovering the Watergate scandal was called “maybe the single greatest reporting effort of all time” by Gene Roberts, then managing editor of The New York Times. It earned them the Pulitzer Prize. Years after the revelations of Watergate that led to President Nixon’s resignation still cast a long shadow. Its lessons about secret government stand as warning signs to future presidents.
Nothing defines the nation to the world – and to itself – as much as war. Bob Woodward has written seven books on the wars and foreign policy of the two Bushes, Reagan and Obama — beginning with The Commanders in 1991 on the first Gulf War, Veil: the Secret Wars of the CIA under Reagan, four books on President George W. Bush’s wars (Bush at War, Plan of Attack, State of Denial, and The War Within) and Obama’s Wars in 2010.
Beginning with their first shared Watergate byline in June 1972, Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein set a new standard for Washington journalism and in-depth, behind-the-scenes reporting on the American presidency. Together Woodward and Bernstein tell the stories behind their newspaper work and books, offering a unique, riveting and personal tour of politics and Washington. Addressing the weaknesses and strengths of eight presidents, their presentation provides a vivid lesson in leadership. The co-authors of All the President’s Men (1974) and The Final Days (1976) will explore the impact and methods of the modern media from their own police-beat-style reporting to the radical changes brought by the internet, cable news and social networking tools. The 40th anniversary of the Watergate break-in -- June 17, 2012 -- was an especially appropriate milestone for Woodward and Bernstein to revisit some questions: What really happened in Watergate? Why? Who was behind it? What does it mean for politics today? Is there a case for defending Nixon or reassessing his presidency in general? What about Henry Kissinger? What are the real lessons for America four decades later?
Working behind the scenes for 18 months, Bob Woodward wrote the most intimate and sweeping portrait of President Obama making the critical decisions on the Afghanistan war, the secret war in Pakistan and the worldwide fight against terrorism. Drawing on internal memos, classified documents, meeting notes and hundreds of hours of interviews with most of the key players, including the president, Woodward's lectures offer an original, you-are-there account of Obama and his team in this time of turmoil and uncertainty: a heretofore unseen look at the president, his leadership style and the inner-workings of his administration.
First it was fear, now it's rage.
